Leroy Bernard Shield was born on October 2, 1893 and died in 1962. He was a cinema and radio composer from the United States. He's most known for writing the themes and incidental music for legendary Hal Roach comedy short films from the 1920s and 1930s, such as "Our Gang" and "Laurel and Hardy" series.
Shield worked for a broadcasting company where he created and led on-air musical compositions. He also worked at the Hal Roach film studio, where he had to opportunity to create background music that became key parts of the studios music. Some of his best pieces are found within The Moon and You, Good Old Days, You Are the One I Love, and so much more.

Amazing music that has taken a long time to be properly acknowledged for its own merits. The music is beautifully crafted where each note has a specific purpose. I could listen to this forever on repeat. Luckily Leroy has left a legacy of such great music diversity.
